Future Improvements

Hopefully this new camera will mean that I don't have to guess most of the shading and fine details. That eye on the left is so damn pixelated that I pretty much had to make most of it up and it's taken me the best part of 4 days to get it to look right. That probably says more about my abilities than the picture quality but oh well.

On the off chance anyone has noticed my lack of new artwork, I thought it'd be a good idea to explain why, and while I'm at it, I'll give a quick briefing to what's happening in my life right now.
First of all, it's worth mentioning that most of my uploads start off as nothing more than an experiment of a new style or feature that I discover. Most of the time, I get lucky and manage to turn that experiment into a full project. However, recently I have had a lot of failed experiments that I didn't consider worth uploading. That being said, if you really want to seem them regardless, let me know.
Secondly, it took me so much time and effort to make my Ash Rider image that I kind of lost a lot of motivation to make any more large projects. Or rather, I want to do more, but I get tired or bored before they are completed and so they never get released.
Finally, I'm hoping to go to college at some point in the coming months. Luckily, I'm going into it to do primarily Art and Design so with any luck, this will actually increase the amount of uploads instead of decreasing them due to being busy. I say 'hopefully' because I don't actually know whether or not I'll get in. For those of you that know me in person you already know my situation. For the rest, I'll try to keep it brief. Essentially, I've had quite a lot of medical trouble in recent years and as a result, have nothing in the way of qualifications or GCSE's (Save for a few VERY low grades in subjects that don't help me in any way). I've spoken with a few people at the college about this and the general answer seems to be that I should apply anyway and hope that my artwork is sufficient to qualify me for a higher course, otherwise I will have to waste even more of my time going through the lower levels and not really gaining any new abilities or knowledge. So far things are looking reasonably good. The people who have seen my work seem to think I have at least a decent shot and I'm working on a self portrait now which should help me even more. I guess time will tell if it's good enough.
